Ohio State football set to get a transfer portal visit from an experienced SEC starter who would be a welcomed addition
Ohio State is set to get a visit from an SEC cornerback this weekend.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are busy at work in the transfer portal. Ohio State has already had several players decide to enter the transfer portal.
Ohio State is also busy targeting players it wants to bring in from the transfer portal. The latest player in the portal to be connected to the Buckeyes is a now-former SEC standout who could potentially be a starter in Columbus next fall.
Ohio State set to get a visit from a former Auburn Tigers starter
According to 247 Sports’ Chris Hummer, the Buckeyes will get a visit from CB Kayin Lee on Sunday after he entered the portal on Friday. Lee was a former Ohio State commitment in high school before he flipped to the Tigers.
Lee has been a three-year contributor at Auburn after flipping to the Tigers on signing day back in the class of 2023. The former Tiger was a top-150 prospect out of talent-rich Georgia. 247 Sports has Lee rated as the No. 8 cornerback in the transfer portal. The 5-11 defender will take a visit to Ole Miss on Saturday. Following the visit to Columbus, Lee will visit Texas A&M and Missouri.
During his junior season, Lee made one interception with 31 tackles and four passes defended in 12 games. Lee had a pair of interceptions and 32 tackles as a sophomore in 2024. Ohio State has Davison Igbinosun heading to the NFL, and Jermaine Mathews Jr. could potentially follow.
Ohio State has had Bryce West transfer already this week, and he was set to compete for the starting nickel job. Adding Lee would be a nice piece for Ohio State’s defense, and he’s a player to watch with his visit coming up.
