Ravens to interview one of the Lions’ most important coach’s for their offensive coordinator job
Not a guy the Lions want to lose
The Detroit Lions have their new offensive coordinator, but that does not mean their coaching staff is set in stone just yet. There may be additional hires on the horizon, and some teams are still seeking to fill their positions. That includes the Baltimore Ravens.
Ravens to interview Lions Assistant head coach/ receivers coach Scottie Montgomery for their offensive coordinator job
Make no mistake that this is a big one for the Lions. Montgomery has been the team’s assistant head coach since 2023, and he was also the team’s running backs coach for two seasons. Montgomery played a big role in getting Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery to the level that they were at. In 2025, he had Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown putting up big numbers and blocking downfield like crazy. Montgomery is not a guy you want to lose.
With that said, Montgomery is ready for an offensive coordinator role, and he deserves it, too. He was not only a big part of the Lions, but Colts running back Jonathan Taylor also swears by him. He’s already interviewed for the Buccaneers and Cowboys in recent years for the same role, but got beaten out both times. The Ravens could be the spot for him, though. We’ll see where it goes. Frankly, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him get head coach interviews soon, either.
