It’s mostly new staff with the Cleveland Browns this year under first-year head coach Todd Monken. Monken has built what looks to be an intriguing staff with connections from his past.

The Browns took part in rookie minicamp last weekend and they’ll have mandatory minicamp in just a few weeks. With OTAs ongoing, it’s been a chance to see the new staff along with the new additions to the team. Cleveland has added an additional staff member this offseason, in the form of a former general manager Andrew Berry draft pick.

Former 2021 NFL Draft pick of the Browns is back in Cleveland to begin his coaching career

Cleveland has added its own former running back Demetric Felton Jr. to a support staff role. Felton will be an offensive skill development analyst with the Browns. The former UCLA Bruin will serve in a support role for the offensive staff including offensive coordinator Travis Switzer.

Felton was a sixth-round pick by the Browns in the 2021 NFL Draft. After being selected by Cleveland, Felton played two seasons with the team with 24 games played. The Browns utilized Felton mainly for his receiving ability. He caught 20 passes for 189 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Felton never played elsewhere in the NFL following the eight games he played with the Browns.

There were a few spark plays the 5-foot-9 running back was able to create with the Browns, and he handled some return duties as well. His NFL playing career never worked out in the end, but now he has a chance to follow it up with a coaching career.

An interesting developmental role for the Browns where Felton will get to work with offensive players and coaches. Cleveland bringing back one of its own draft picks is a cool story, and it’ll be interesting to see where he takes this.
