One of the lingering questions about the Miami Dolphins’ remaining to-do list is now answered thanks to another NFL franchise
The Miami Dolphins’ question about one rookie is now answered thanks to another team.
The prospect of Miami Dolphins rookie contract signings continues to be an elusive achievement.
Miami has yet to announce any of their rookie players putting pen to paper on a new deal. It isn’t anything to worry about. Don’t believe me? The Dolphins just pushed a monster contract extension for running back De’Von Achane across the finish line this past week. But thanks to rookie contract action across the rest of the league, one of the big lingering questions for the Miami Dolphins has been answered for them.
The Miami Dolphins’ Jacob Rodriguez guarantee question has been answered by another NFL team

Remember that whole ‘second round contract guarantees’ dilemma? The Dolphins were in the middle of it last year with top-40 pick Jonah Savaiinaea. And now, with Jacob Rodriguez drafted just on the outside fringes of the top-40, it was a talking point for another year.
But the Atlanta Falcons have removed any possibility of a precedent other than a fully guaranteed contract for Rodriguez. Because the Falcons have agreed to terms with second-round cornerback Avieon Terrell on a fully guaranteed contract. Terrell, who was the team’s first draft pick, was drafted 48th overall.
This was how it started last year, when the Houston Texans gave their first draft choice of the class full guarantees despite being drafted in the second round. And the Cleveland Browns, who picked 33rd, quickly followed suit. The Miami Dolphins and every other team with a draft choice between No. 41 and No. 48 in the draft order this year now don’t have much of a leg to stand on for anything other than a fully-guaranteed four year contract. That’s that. Thanks to the Falcons.
