National outlet just slapped one of Miami Hurricanes’ most important players squarely across the face with recent ranking
The Canes’ standout ballcarrier will have a bit of added motivation going into the 2026 season.
Miami Hurricanes running back Mark Fletcher, Jr. had a whale of a season last year. The rising senior was blunt force trauma on two legs last season as the Hurricanes’ punishing rushing attack wore teams down over four quarters.
However, it appears as though his accomplishments didn’t register with the folks over at On3 Sports, whose Clark Brooks put out a list of the top 100 players for the 2026 season.
Fletcher found himself coming in as the No. 93 overall player and the tenth running back on the list. And that placement is completely unsupportable from what took place on the field in 2025.
On3 Sports ranks Miami Hurricanes RB March Fletcher Jr. as No. 93 overall player for 2026
Honestly, in this spot, it almost feels like Fletcher was forgotten and to correct it, he was slipped in the rankings at the end and no one would notice.
Because Fletcher was nothing short of spectacular in the College Football Playoff. He put the the Hurricanes on his back and carried them all the way to the end of the national championship game at times.
To be more specific, he set the College Football Playoff record for most rushing yards in the playoff with 507 on 75 carries against four of the best teams in college football (6.8 yards per carry). At 6-2, 225 pounds, he is built like a slightly smaller version of Derrick Henry and runs like this.
I have a hard time believing Fletcher isn’t one of the best three running backs in all of college football entering the 2026 college football season, and if there are 25 better players, I’d like to see them.
In any event, Fletcher at least has some bulletin board material to use as fuel as he looks to help carry the Hurricanes one step further next season.
