Lane Kiffin did something that LSU fans have never seen happen in a football game, even though he hinted that he wouldn’t
There’s truly no one quite like LSU Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin, and fans in Baton Rouge got the full experience during the season-opening win over Clemson.
A couple of weeks before the season started, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin hinted that the Tigers’ sideline wouldn’t have too many gimmicks.
Well, I guess he changed his mind.
And I think it’s a good thing.
LSU’s sideline was electric during the 51-10 win over Clemson on Saturday night in Baton Rouge, and there were a couple of fun gimmicks.
We saw Kiffin’s Ole Miss teams have a similar energy in the past (though LSU was more electric).
What we haven’t seen, though, is Kiffin taking a jump shot in the middle of the game.
Kiffin, as he did at Ole Miss, has a basketball goal on the sideline to celebrate big plays.
At one point during the win over Clemson, Kiffin took a 20-foot jumper as LSU was kicking an extra point.
I’ve been watching football since the mid 90s — I have never seen a coach take a shot on a basketball goal in the middle of a play. Incredible.
It’s too bad Kiffin didn’t make the shot, though. He’s gotta work on that.
