Bucs can get the true final word against Aaron Rodgers in 2026
The 2026 season is (supposedly) the last in the future Hall of Famer’s great career. The Bucs can finish it with a winning record against him.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Aaron Rodgers have had some memorable moments over the years. The “Bay of Pigs” matchup, as the great Chris Berman used to refer to the Bucs-Packers clashes, pitted Tampa Bay and Green Bay in some big moments, particularly during the Bucs’ most recent Super Bowl run in 2020.
All in all, the Bucs and Rodgers are ahead all time in the matchups with a 4-3 mark including the playoffs. But the Bucs will get one more shot at Rodgers this upcoming season to try to finish with a winning record. Rodgers announced his return to Pittsburgh for one more season last week and that this will be his final season in the NFL.
The Bucs and Steelers will face off on Sunday, October 18 in Tampa, and the Bucs — absent a Super Bowl rematch — could send Rodgers out of Raymond James Stadium for the final time with a loss.
Bucs will face Aaron Rodgers in Week 5 with a chance to secure an all-time winning record against the future Hall of Famer
Tampa Bay gave Rodgers a rough welcome to the NFL in 2008 during his first season as Green Bay’s starter. Rodgers threw three picks in a 30-21 Bucs victory in Tampa. Tampa Bay repeated the favor one season later, forcing three Rodgers interceptions in a 38-28 win, also in Tampa.
Rodgers and the Packers finally got the upper hand in the series back in 2011, when the defending Super Bowl champions defeated the Bucs 35-26 in Lambeau Field. He picked up his first win in Tampa in 2014, a 20-3 win against a 2-14 Bucs team who would go winless at home.
The Bucs picked up two wins over the Packers in 2020 on the way to their second Super Bowl title. Tampa Bay throttled the Pack 38-10 in October in Tampa. In the NFC Championship Game, Brady and the Bucs pulled off a 31-26 win in Lambeau Field to reach Super Bowl LV.
Rodgers and the Packers got one back in 2022 in Tampa 14-12. That’s the last time the Bucs have faced Rodgrs and puts the all-time series at the Bucs 4, Rodgers 3, including the playoffs.
The future Hall of Famer has had worlds of success against other franchises, but the Bucs have been a struggle for him. We’ll find out in the third weekend of October if they can get the last laugh.
