Las Vegas Raiders have a delicate plan that they intend to stick to from now until training camp, and they’re right on schedule
The Las Vegas Raiders plan to get to training camp with their best player available and healthy, which is right on schedule.
The Las Vegas Raiders tried to trade Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. However, that trade backfired because Baltimore was not confident in Crosby’s ability to recover from his current knee injury.
Now, as it’s late May and we get into OTAs, Crosby is with the team still. He’s in great spirits, loves the moves the team has made, and is absolutely ahead of schedule on his recovery. So, the Raiders have a plan, and they are sticking to that plan for their best player.
Raiders have a plan for Maxx Crosby’s recovery
“Yeah, we do. That’s the goal,” Kubiak said regarding whether the plan is to have Crosby back by training camp. “He’s still the first one in this building every day, working. He’s a leader on our team, and when he’s out there, you feel his presence. And yes, we’re counting on him being there for training camp, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Maxx [Crosby] was ahead of schedule.
“That’s just in his DNA. You didn’t have to ask him to do that. He’s going to be there as much as possible, and he knows that we’re counting on him to be a leader. So, he’s showing his face, but he’s also very engaged in the meetings, and he’s one of those guys you’ve got to say, ‘Whoa’ to. You have got to pull him back. He might jump in there in team period if you’re not watching. He’s that competitive. I’m really fired up to get to coach him.”
Maxx Crosby is still going to do Maxx Crosby-like things. The guy is a machine, and no one is going to outwork him. Nobody. That said, it’s very important that he is ready for training camp. The guy is the best player on the team, and certainly the engine for the defense.
The Raiders have a legit chance at winning 6-8 games this year, which would be a massive improvement. But they need their leader to be healthy.
