2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges took his official visit to Ohio State this past weekend.

And the visit, which reportedly went well, gave the Tennessee Vols a big hint about what they need to showcase when Gabriel Georges makes his way to Knoxville this upcoming weekend for an official visit.

Gabriel Georges spoke to Rivals about his visit to Columbus, and while he didn’t make any revelations that tell us which way this battle is trending, he did drop an interesting quote about what stood out to him at Ohio State.

The highly-touted running back said that the weight room was the highlight of his visit to Ohio State.

“The overall highlight (of the visit) was seeing the weight room, the mentality there and spending time with (Ohio State RBs coach Carlos Locklyn),” said Gabriel Georges.

That small bit of information could be very beneficial for the Vols. Gabriel Georges’ focus is clearly on his development as a player, and not all the flash that comes along with a high-profile recruitment.

Tennessee has a new strength coach in Derek Owings, who is a star in college football after helping transform Indiana’s football team the last couple of years (which is a big reason why the Hoosiers won the natty last season).

Owings and his plan for Gabriel Georges needs to be the highlight of the trip for Tennessee (based on what the running back said to Rivals).

I don’t think this small bit of information is going to have a major impact on this recruiting battle but it’ll at least help the Vols be as prepared as they possibly can be for Gabriel Georges’ official later this week.
