Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are on the verge of receiving some big-time news that will fans will love
It sounds like the Georgia Bulldogs are about to be on the right side of some important college football news.
Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs could be getting some very good news in the not-too-distant future.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman believe the Bulldogs are on the verge of landing a commitment from 2027 four-star quarterback Colton Nussmeier, the younger brother of former LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
“Georgia will soon have its quarterback in the 2027 cycle,” wrote Wiltfong on Friday. “Denton (Texas) Ryan Rivals Industry four-star Colton Nussmeier looks like the guy.. Talking to sources with knowledge of the recruitment Sam Spiegelman and I have logged forecasts in favor of the SEC powerhouse. We also think Nussmeier could be one of the next in the fold.”
Nussmeier, 6-foot-4/195 pounds from Denton, TX, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 10 quarterback in the nation and the No. 19 player in the state of Texas.
He’s taking his official visit to Georgia this weekend, so Bulldogs fans should probably be on commitment watch.
Arkansas, Florida, and LSU are among the other teams that have been in the mix for the four-star quarterback.
But according to Wiltfong, it’s Arkansas that looks like the biggest threat right now. And it’s hard to imagine Smart and company losing a top quarterback target to the Razorbacks.
