While the summer is typically the slow time for football and sports in general, the month of June in Tuscaloosa is always a busy one. Not only is the current team for the Alabama Crimson Tide back for summer workouts and conditioning, but the staff is working on the weekends like usual with official visits at the Capstone.

Alabama has been going for quality over quantity when it comes to the 2027 class, with eyes on a trio of 5-stars that remain uncommitted. One of them is the brother of a current Crimson Tide starter. Here is where things stand in his recruitment as we approach mid-June.

Alabama 2027 recruiting class

  • QB Elijah Haven (5-star)
  • LB Kenneth Simon II (4-star)
  • QB Trent Seaborn (4-star)
  • RB Nigel Newkirk (4-star)
  • DL Avrian “AJ” Pauley (3-star)
  • TE Michael Nnabuife (3-star)
  • TE Oakley Keegan (3-star)
  • Kicker Luke Cody
  • RB Tai Phillips (3-star)

Latest on Xavier Sabb’s recruitment

“I’m logging a Rivals Prediction Machine forecast in favor of Oregon as the Ducks battle Alabama, LSU, UCLA and Tennessee for the Glassboro (NJ) High standout. Sabb will take his official visit to Eugene the weekend of June 19 and has already spent a lot of time around Dan Lanning and the Big Ten program.” – Steve Wiltfong, On3-Rivals

Xavier is the younger brother of Alabama Crimson Tide starting safety Keon, who figures to be a key piece once again in the Crimson Tide secondary. Alabama also received a commitment and ultimately a signing from Amari Sabb, as GM Courtney Morgan and Kalen DeBoer aim to close the trio of brothers.

Oregon stands in Alabama’s way for Xavier Sabb

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have yet to really be a thorn in the Crimson Tide’s side when it comes to recruiting battles, but that is seemingly changing with the Sabb decision.

This one could go deep into the summer if not lead up to national signing day, so I wouldn’t count out the Crimson Tide just yet.
