Notre Dame football just finished up its first official visit weekend of the offseason, and there were multiple important defensive targets to keep a close eye on for the 2027 recruiting class. For the upcoming weekend, the offense will be the priority. There are multiple elite prospects that the Fighting Irish continue to push hard for.

For head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish staff, this upcoming visit could be the difference between landing an elite and historic class. With so much on the line, let’s make an updated prediction for the 2027 offensive class that the program is putting together. Notre Dame must continue to put its foot on the gas.

Here is how I see the offensive class finishing for Notre Dame.

Skill positions

The skill position groups for the 2027 recruiting class are pretty much solidified at this point. While the rankings still aren’t where they should be, Champ Monds is one of the more talented quarterbacks that Notre Dame has landed in recent memory. If he puts together a strong season in 2026, he promises to skyrocket up the recruiting rankings.

With the duo of Lathan Whisenton and Isaiah Rogers already committed, Notre Dame also has another impressive running back class. The former brings some outstanding speed and big-play ability, while Rogers has even more upside as an all-around running back. Those two should continue the Irish run of excellence at the position.

At wide receiver, there appears to be just one missing piece for the class: elite playmaker Julius Jones Jr., who happens to be a Notre Dame legacy. Adding him with Colorado speedster Jackson Coleman and tight end Titus Hawk is a massive priority. The Fighting Irish are the clear frontrunners, especially after having set his commitment date for June 22, a day after his official visit ends.

QB Wonderful “Champ” Monds IV – Vero Beach (Fla.) High School

RB Lathan Whisenton – Waco (Texas) Midway

RB Isaiah Rogers – Springfield (Mass.) Central

WR Julius Jones Jr. – Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas

WR Jackson Coleman – Littleton (Co.) Valor Christian

TE Titus Hawk – Choctaw (Okla.) High School

Offensive line

For the most part, Joe Rudolph has already solidified an outstanding offensive line haul for the 2027 recruiting class. If the group ended with Olu Olubobola, James Halter, Jackson Hill, and Richie Flanigan, it would be tremendous. That hasn’t stopped Freeman and Co. from continuing to push hard for 5-star Lake Charles (La.) Sam Houston star Albert Simien. The Irish continue to fight against Texas A&M for the elite offensive lineman, and I am feeling more and more confident that Notre Dame lands him.

If Notre Dame does land Simien, this would be the best offensive line class under Rudolph. That’s quite the compliment considering how well he has recruited since he landed in South Bend.

OT Oluwasemilore Olubolola – Jersey City (NJ) St. Peter’s Prep

OT James Halter – Pittsburgh (Pa.) Central Catholic

IOL Albert Simien – Lake Charles (La.) Sam Houston

IOL Jackson Hill – West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade

IOL Richie Flanigan – Green Bay (Wisc.) Notre Dame Academy
