Notre Dame reveals Shamrock Series jerseys for the 2026 Lambeau Field matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers
Notre Dame officially unveils their 2026 Shamrock Series jerseys for the matchup against Wisconsin. They brought some mixed reviews.
Notre Dame football unveiled its 2026 Shamrock Series jerseys on Wednesday morning to preview the Fighting Irish matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 6 on NBC and Peacock, marking the 13th contest in the annual Shamrock Series and another chance for head coach Marcus Freeman and the program to extend their brand into a new corner of the country.
Here are those jerseys from the reveal. The Green Bay Packers were a huge theme for the creation of them.

The Shamrock Series dates back to 2009, when Notre Dame traveled to the Alamodome to take on Washington State. Since then, the Fighting Irish hold an undefeated record across 12 games in the series, which allows Notre Dame to schedule a home game at a neutral site each year. The concept centers around bringing the Notre Dame football experience to fans in major cities, giving the program a chance to reach areas it might not typically visit.
A history of marquee venues
Over the years, Notre Dame has played Shamrock Series games at some of the most iconic venues in American sports. That includes Yankee Stadium, Soldier Field, AT&T Stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium, Fenway Park, and Allegiant Stadium. Lambeau Field is the latest addition to that list, and it fits right in with the caliber of stadiums the series has called home.
The lone exceptions in the series came in 2019 and 2020, when games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2023 iteration was also skipped because Notre Dame played the Naval Academy in Dublin, Ireland, which served as a substitute for that year’s Shamrock Series contest.
The jerseys have become an event of their own
One of the signature elements of the Shamrock Series has been the special jerseys Notre Dame wears for each game. Those uniforms have gained significant notoriety over the years and have mostly been a massive hit among the Notre Dame fan base and nationally. The 2024 game against Army saw the Fighting Irish honor the 100th anniversary of Notre Dame’s legendary Four Horsemen backfield, and a previous Yankee Stadium matchup featured a Yankee-centric design.
Wednesday’s reveal gave fans their first look at what the Irish will wear at Lambeau Field, and the excitement was immediate, although there were some mixed opinions, as per usual.
A mid-offseason boost for the Fighting Irish brand
With Notre Dame deep in the July dead period and very little happening across college football, this jersey reveal provides a welcome jolt of energy. It is a smart move by the program to continue pushing its brand and generating buzz during the quietest stretch of the calendar.
The timing also matters in a broader context. There is genuine excitement within the Fighting Irish fan base heading into the 2026 season, with expectations that Freeman and Notre Dame could make a deep College Football Playoff run and contend for a national championship. Moments like the Shamrock Series jersey reveal keep that momentum alive and give fans something tangible to rally around before the season kicks off.
The Lambeau Field game against Wisconsin promises to be another signature moment for a series that has become one of the more unique traditions in college football. If history is any indication, Notre Dame will look good doing it.
