The scene in Knoxville on Saturday for Tennessee’s matchup against Texas is going to be absolutely wild.

ESPN’s College GameDay is going to be in town, President Donald Trump is planning to attend the game, and a long list of famous names is expected to be in Neyland Stadium.

With all the hoopla, though, comes a concern for the Vols.

Home field advantage will obviously be important in this game, which means the last thing Tennessee needs is fans still trying to find their seats during the Longhorns’ first offensive drive.

To prevent that, Tennessee is encouraging fans to get to their seats early due to the “enhanced security screening” that will be taking place.

Gates will now open at 9:00 AM ET (30 minutes earlier than the original plan)

“President Donald J. Trump is expected to attend Saturday’s football game between Tennessee and Texas,” noted the University in a press release. “Fans should plan to arrive early and expect increased security measures in and around Neyland Stadium. All stadium gates will open at 9:00 a.m. Ticketed attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive significantly earlier than they would for a typical game. Enhanced security screening will be conducted before entry by the Secret Service Police at all stadium gates. Fans should expect increased wait times as kickoff approaches.”

Tennessee fans have an opportunity to do something college football fans will never forget

Because the game kicks off at noon, the last hour of College GameDay (from 11 to 12) will be broadcast from inside Neyland Stadium.

So here’s what fans need to do for this game.

Treat it like the game kicks off at 11:00 AM. Be in your seats at 11:00 AM when the final hour of College GameDay starts. Pack the stands and be loud. Set the tone before the game ever starts.

Can you imagine the reaction if Tennessee fans are so loud that it disrupts the College GameDay broadcast? Can you imagine if Kirk Herbstreit can’t hear what Rece Davis is saying because the fans are too loud? It would be an incredible scene, and it would let Texas know what’s to come all afternoon. Maybe it even gets in their head a little.

The noon kickoff for this game isn’t ideal, but Tennessee fans can use it to make a statement. There are going to be a lot of eyes on this game on Saturday, and Vols fans have an opportunity to make it one that college football fans never forget.
