Tennessee has found its fourth quarter song, and they better keep using it because it’s perfect
The Tennessee Volunteers may have a new tradition at Neyland Stadium.
Tennessee may have finally found the perfect fourth quarter song.
For the last couple of years, Tennessee has been trying out different fourth quarter songs to find the right fit. They’ve tried “Friends in Low Places”, “The Way I Walk”, and “My Tennessee Mountain Home”.
None of those have felt quite right.
The answer, however, was found on Saturday night during the Vols’ win over Kentucky.
Tennessee played Hank Williams’ Jr’s “Family Tradition” and the crowd was all in.
I mean, that’s perfect. It’s a song that everyone knows and that everyone sings along to when it comes on.
I can’t tell you how many times while growing up that I’ve heard someone badly sing that song during karaoke at a random beachside bar in Myrtle Beach — usually while alongside numerous Tennessee fans (because Vols fans are always everywhere).
This is the one. Keep playing Hank after the third quarter.
