2024 four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell just committed to the Tennessee Vols this week and he's already trying to help the program land a big recruiting target.

Harrell, 6-foot-2/185 lbs from Sardis, MS (North Panola), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 17 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi. He's also rated as the No. 99 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

The talented wide receiver committed to Tennessee on Monday and by Tuesday he was already working hard to bring a key in-state recruiting target to UT.

Harrell sent a tweet to 2024 four-star athlete Boo Carter that essentially asked if he's ready to commit to Tennessee.

Carter, 5-foot-10/184 lbs from Chattanooga, TN, is rated as the No. 4 player in the state of Tennessee.

The talented recruit can play defensive back or running back, but the Vols are recruiting him as a defensive back.

Most folks seem to think that Tennessee will land Carter, but that's far from a certainty. Other programs are heavily recruiting him and he's taking his time with his decision.

Harrell's recruiting pitch, however, certainly doesn't hurt. And ultimately, I'd be surprised if Carter doesn't end up in Orange and White.
