ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggested this week that former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt would like a “fresh start” in the NFL.

Hyatt, who is in his third season with the New York Giants, was a healthy scratch last week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“It’s worth monitoring whether the Giants can recoup draft capital of several former picks that have not worked out,” wrote Fowler. “Former third-round receiver Jalin Hyatt would like a fresh start elsewhere.”

The NFL trade deadline is November 4.

Hyatt, a third round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, has three receptions for 17 yards so far this season.

Former Tennessee Vols WR Jalin Hyatt comments on Giants trade rumors

Hyatt commented on the trade rumors on Thursday, ahead of the Giants’ Week 9 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

“It’s the NFL,” said Hyatt. “Whatever happens happens. Right now I’m just focused on what I can do here. Focused on how I can continue to keep getting better and helping this team.”

“I have a lot of faith and belief in this team,” added Hyatt. “Right now my main focus is being the best player I can be here.”

There’s no doubt that a trade would be a good thing for Hyatt’s NFL career. The former Vol obviously has talent, but things just haven’t worked out in New York. A fresh start could be all Hyatt needs to jumpstart his NFL career.
