The Los Angeles Chargers and the Carolina Panthers have requested permission to interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, as noted by the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Chargers and the Panthers are among multiple teams that are looking to soon fill their head coaching vacancies. Los Angeles parted ways with Brandon Staley last month and called on Giff Smith to be its interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Carolina fired Frank Reich in November, and it placed the interim head coach tag on Chris Tabor. The NFC South side finished with a 1-5 record under Tabor.
The Ravens brought in Monken to replace Greg Roman as their offensive coordinator in Feb. 2023. Monken was just coming off of a three-year run as offensive coordinator for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Monken has anchored a Ravens offense that capped off regular season play by ranking first in rushing yards per game (156.5) and fourth in points per game (28.4).
Commanders reportedly request to interview Ravens’ Mike Macdonald, Anthony Weaver for HC job
Bad news for Baltimore.
