Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed practice on Thursday due to an illness, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Jackson was the lone player on Baltimore's active roster who did not take part in its second practice session of the week, and it was the first time all season that he was sidelined from practice. This came a day after Jackson both practiced and was not listed on the team’s first injury report of the week.
It will be noteworthy to see whether Jackson will be cleared to practice on Friday. If he does not end up receiving the green light to play in Baltimore’s upcoming home matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, then Tyler Huntley is expected to get the call to start out at quarterback in the contest. The fourth-year passer has tallied eight starts in four seasons with Baltimore.
Jackson is not the only player on the team who is dealing with an illness. Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman did not practice on Wednesday due to an illness, but he made his return to the field on Thursday.
The Ravens currently hold the No. 2 seed in the AFC with a 9-3 record.
