The Cincinnati Bengals won their road game the Baltimore Ravens for the second consecutive season.
Vibes were quite bleak halfway into Sunday’s game at M&T Bank Stadium for the team in white jerseys. No one would’ve been surprised to see Joe Flacco (3) take some snaps in his old stomping grounds purely to preserve Joe Burrow (50) from getting injured in a lost game.
Flacco did come into the game, but for the best possible reason. Let’s see what the snap counts for the entire team look like.

Back to Chase Brown
It wasn’t a banner day for the Bengals’ run game as they finished with 73 yards and a score on 20 carries, but Chase Brown (40) was back to taking the majority of rushes compared to Samaje Perine (12). The two experienced a nearly equal split during their last game in Week 5, and the rushing attack enjoyed one of its better days of the year.
Perine notched Cincy’s longest rush of the year, a 15-yard run, but only netted one more yard on his other three carries. He averaged -0.13 EPA/rush despite crossing the goal line for his first touchdown of the season from one yard out. He was tackled for a two-yard loss on a third-and-1 early in the afternoon. Brown averaged 0.01 EPA/rush despite averaging 3.55 yards per carry as nine of his 11 rushes went for at least four yards.
It looked like a better day for Brown compared to recent performances, and the contextualized numbers back that up. As the Bengals shifted away from their under center schemes in the second half, Brown’s shotgun running became featured once more. If this game is to be a watershed moment, then maybe the run game splits will follow suit.
Bring in the reserves!
Scoring 35 unanswered points in under two quarters of play will 99% of the time lead to garbage time, and that’s exactly what Cincy incurred late in the game. For the first time this season, the reserves on both sides of the ball came in to finish the game.
Flacco was joined on the field with RB Tahj Brooks, center Jacob Bayer, right guard Jalen Rivers, and right tackle Javon Foster for three snaps, a three-and-out late in the fourth quarter which ended up as the Bengals’ last possession.
The defense sent out backup linebackers Joe Giles-Harris and Jack Kiser, and backup cornerback Tacario Davis for the last four snaps. Those were the first four snaps Kiser has taken for Cincy’s defense since being claimed off waivers last week.
