Packers at last have reason for optimism with huge injury update on offense, and nobody is happier than Jordan Love
Two defensive tackles are ruled out, but the real question is whether Green Bay’s pass protection can recover from a dismal Week 1. Zach Bako-Bewele and Aaron Banks are both active.
The Green Bay Packers released their inactive list ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, and the offensive line situation looms as the most critical storyline entering Week 2. Three players carried a questionable designation, including left guard Aaron Banks and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele, both dealing with knee injuries, and both are active. Cornerback Benjamin St. Juste was also questionable with a hamstring injury, but he is inactive.

Offensive line remains the real concern
The biggest question mark for the Packers was upfront on offense. Green Bay managed a 9% pass block win rate against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1, a number that made the offensive line the team’s most glaring problem heading into this matchup.
Banks and Bako-Bewele both carrying questionable tags only amplified that worry throughout the week. With both able to suit up Sunday, the Packers will at least have the best possible version of their offensive line on the field. Given how poorly the unit performed against Minnesota, getting those two on the field at the same time could be the difference between another rough day for the quarterback and a legitimate step forward in pass protection against New York.
Bako-Bewele did play against the Vikings, even though he was not 100%, and Banks missed the regular season opener. With Banks back, Donovan Jennings goes to the bench.
Defensive line takes a hit
The Packers ruled out two defensive tackles before Sunday. Warren Brinson was declared out on Friday with a calf injury that also kept him sidelined for Green Bay’s Week 1 game against the Vikings. On Saturday, the Packers ruled out Javon Hargrave as well. Hargrave did not clear the concussion protocol and is also handling a knee injury.
The positive news on the defensive side came from edge defender Lukas Van Ness. Initially listed as questionable on Friday, Van Ness was upgraded to available on Saturday after clearing the concussion protocol. He is expected to play Sunday.
Linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper (Achilles), edge defender Barryn Sorrell (foot), and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (ankle) are all off the injury report and good to go against the Jets.
