The projections for the 2026 Miami Dolphins offense aren’t exactly ambitious. Amid a new play caller, a new quarterback, and a brand new wide receiver room, the general population isn’t expecting much.

That’s the beauty of football, though. All of Miami’s young players can either prove them right or seize the moment. Perhaps the team’s well-invested running game will do the heavy lifting for the offense in 2026, too. But the summer months are, inevitably, all about projection. That’s never been more true than now as fantasy football culture continues to grow and grow. For the Miami Dolphins, a pair of skill players ended up on either end of the spectrum for ESPN’s latest fantasy tied forecast for the 2026 season.

Miami Dolphins’ De’Von Achane, Greg Dulcich end up on either end of the spectrum for ESPN’s latest 2026 forecast

ESPN’s fantasy football panel of 10 pundits was polled on sleepers, busts, and breakouts for the 2026 season. Sleepers and busts were defined by their projected draft positioning — and whether or not the actual production would justify that ranking. But breakouts were defined as ‘a player who will put up career-best numbers in 2026 and make a huge impact.’

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane obviously carries a lot of star power. As such, he’s among the top projected running backs for the 2026 season. That lofty status, plus the Dolphins’ 2026 offensive questions, was enough for pundit Liz Loza to tab Achane as her “bust” candidate at the running back position. Again, that doesn’t necessarily mean she believes Achane will have a bad season. Just that it won’t meet the draft position and the statistical projections.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Field Yates tabbed Greg Dulcich as his sleeper candidate at the tight end position this season. If you’ve been following along here at A To Z Sports this offseason, you know I’m all in on this one. Dulcich feels like Miami’s second most-relevant skill player for this coming season — health willing.

There’s one thing to remember here. At the end of the day, projections are exactly that: projections. But they are helpful for carving expectations for the season ahead. And it seems Miami’s offensive conditions are brewing to both help and hurt some of their most important skill players as training camp looms.
