The Minnesota Vikings are in need of finding talented players across the board. The trenches, secondary, and running back all need major additions to fortify the roster. The problem that the Vikings have is a lack of draft capital with just four picks.

Each week, we take a look at a fresh mock draft with different scenarios to see what could end up happening come April and the latest one has the Vikings doubling down on one position which could raise eyebrows.

24. Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Scouting Report

The defensive line currently has many questions surrounding it. While Harrison Phillips has two years left in Minnesota, the other two opening day starters Jerry Tillery and Jonathan Bullard are free agents. Plus, the Vikings need to find a way to generate a pass rush from the interior.

This is where Grant comes into play. While he might be slotted in as a nose tackle at 339 lbs, he's a special athlete with elite quickness and size-adjusted athleticism that might be better playing at 3T than he would as a nose tackle. You don't see that often from a guy that size, but he's built differently.

97. RJ Harvey, RB, UCF

Scouting Report

Running back is a position that the Vikings need to prioritize in a major way. Aaron Jones is likely to return with his void date having been moved back, but it would behoove the Vikings to find a way to add two running backs out of this class.

Harvey is a small running back, but he's built thick over 200 lbs and has the speed and contact balance worthy of a player who should be considered at this point in the draft. If you want to find a player who has succeeded at his size, his comp for me is that guy in Maurice Jones-Drew. Same size, build, and playstyle.

139. Trevor Etienne, RB, Georgia

This is a very deep running back class, so getting two players from the position should be a priority for the Vikings. Of course, it could be a difficult ask with the Vikings having four picks, but they could strike gold in undrafted free agency.

This route has the Vikings going the way of the 2017 Green Bay Packers who took Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones in the third and fifth rounds. Etienne should go higher than this, but it's a loaded running back class and he's not the biggest guy in the world at 5'-8. However, he brings a diverse profile with explosive traits.

160. Emery Jones Jr., OT, LSU

Drafting an offensive tackle with the limited resources the Vikings have? Why would they do that? Well, it makes sense when you realize that Jones can kick inside to guard.

There were some going into the year that believed Jones was better than Campbell but he didn't take the necessary step this year to elevate his draft stock. It might be better for Jones to kick inside, but having played tackle in college will give him an advantage in making the team while he develops.
