Vikings GM Nolan Teasley host multiple players for tryouts, including one with an interesting background
The Minnesota Vikings are always looking for more talent, and an injury to Jordan Mason opened the door.
After the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon, the team turned its attention to some minor injuries. Running back Jordan Mason is dealing with a thumb injury, and quarterback Kyler Murray has a concussion. Because of Mason’s injury, the Vikings brought in multiple players for workouts, and a couple of them have fascinating backgrounds, along with one with an international background.
International pathway option
The Vikings don’t currently have an International Pathway player on the practice squad, and they brought in French defensive back Beard-Aigret. He was at one point signed with the DC Defenders, but was released right before the start of the season.
The 26-year-old from France has spent a lot of time in the European Football League. He participated in the CFL Combine in 2020 and the NFL Scouting Combine in 2021. He earned a spot on the Saskatchewan Roughriders roster in 2022 but was released before the start of the season. He also participated in training camp with the San Francisco 49ers in 2025, but did not stick around.
3 running backs worked out
Outside of the defensive back, there were three running backs. Bentley IV was an undrafted free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft who thrived at SMU for three years before going to Ole Miss and not seeing the field much during those final three seasons. The theory was that he had the ability to thrive in the SEC but never got the opportunities many expected. He spent time on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad and ended up playing in Weeks 1 and 2 of the 2025 season. Outside of that, he does not have much of an NFL history.
The last two backs are the most intriguing of the group. Jerome Ford was a fifth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2022, and he’s played a lot of football over his four-year career. Ford has 340 carries for 1,463 yards and seven touchdowns, the majority of which came in a wide zone system run by Kevin Stefanski. It’s also what the Vikings are trying to implement. With Mason’s injury, having that skill set in the backfield is nice to have when it comes to reserves.
Kenny McIntosh has a Nolan Teasley connection
The most intriguing name here is McIntosh. He was a seventh-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2023, and at that point Vikings general manager Nolan Teasley was involved in Seattle’s draft decisions. During his time with the Seahawks, McIntosh only got into 20 games. All 31 of his carries came in 2024 for 172 yards, but he did a lot on special teams with six kick returns for 153 yards and time on a multitude of different units. He’s viewed as one of those wide zone backs as well. McIntosh is 6-foot-2, 204 pounds, and ran a 4.6 at 240 coming out of Georgia.
He would be the second running back Minnesota has added after the team signed DeeJay Dallas about two weeks ago. Dallas had that great hit in Sunday’s win against the Packers.
Whoever ends up coming in is probably a temporary piece to help supplement practice reps with Mason’s injury and provide a little extra depth. Even so, it’s noteworthy that the Vikings brought all of these players in, and this workout group is worth monitoring over the next few days.
