Stefon Diggs spent some time in Foxborough over the past two days to meet with the New England Patriots.

However, the receiver departed without a deal with "nothing imminent on that front," per MassLive's Mark Daniels and Karen Guregian, who also provided some information on Diggs' visit.

Diggs had dinner with some staff members on Wednesday night, and on Thursday, the focus was to see how he was recovering from his torn ACL.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz added that the two sides plan to stay in contact.

"As it was described to me, this was more of a 'get to know you' and 'where you're at medically' type of meeting," Schultz wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This was the first reported visit for Diggs in free agency.

Why Stefon Diggs to the Patriots Makes Sense

Diggs is coming off a season-ending ACL tear eight games into his first season with the Texans. Due to the injury, there is a high chance Diggs won't be ready by training camp and even possibly the start of the season. But, when he is ready to return, it's provides New England with a solid weapon.

And the Patriots are familiar with his play style as he had spent the previous four seasons with the Bills, earning Pro Bowl honors each year. Since 2018, Diggs has not had one season (excluding last year when he tore his ACL) that was under 1,000 receiving yards.

Across his 10 years in the league, Diggs has a total of 857 receptions for 10,491 receiving yards and 70 receiving touchdowns.

It seems that it wasn't a no, but it also wasn't a yes. Diggs has no other suitors at the moment, but if things change, the Patriots will have to make a decision.

They could also be waiting to see what happens with the NFL Draft, specifically as it concerns Colorado star Travis Hunter.
