The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to have a chance at challenging the most draft picks produced in a single draft later this month in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Bringing back a group of draft-eligible players was a big win for the Buckeyes and it helped them win a National Championship.

QB Will Howard was a big part of that and he could end up being a Day 2 draft pick, if not early Day 3. Howard was a great teammate at Ohio State and he’s still taking a big stand for his guys. Howard appeared on “The Adam Schefter Podcast” and pointed out the one Buckeye he thinks will have a great NFL career.

“One guy I’ve been saying over and over and I think he’s a special, special guy. He’s been special through his whole career here and he’s going to be special at the next level is Emeka Egbuka,” Howard stated.

Howard was sure to name all of the position groups who are about to put players in the NFL from Ohio State and pointed out that he didn’t single anyone out. However, his answer won’t come as a surprise to Ohio State fans because Egbuka was a pro from the moment he arrived in Columbus.

The former five-star recruit put up two 1,000-yard seasons at Ohio State and recorded 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2022. He went over 1,000 yards again in 2024 and scored 10 touchdowns again. Egbuka was able to appear in 10 games as a true freshman and holds the record for receptions in a career at Ohio State with 205 catches in 49 games.

“I see something different with him, man. He’s got unbelievable route running ability, he’s got great speed, he’s got some of the best hands I've been around. On top of that man, he’s one of the best guys I’ve been around. He’s super into his faith, understands the game like a quarterback.”

Egbuka is expected to be a first-round pick at the end of April and he has one of the cleanest resumes in the draft. A high profile recruit who is a great leader with no off-field questions, and has the production to go with his athletic profile.

Howard and Egbuka could potentially end up teammates at the next level, that just has to play out. One thing is for sure though, Howard is a lifelong fan of Egbuka, who he has a great connection with during his one season in Columbus.
