The Oklahoma Sooners need some more players for their 2026 class. They need players to commit. Now, it's not urgent as they only have four committed players, the same number as the National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes, but you'd certainly like to see the Sooners start to pick up some steam in the recruiting department.
The thing is, they are sending out offers to some really good players, and they are hosting visits, but nothing is materializing just yet. It will, though, as these kinds of things take time. The Sooners have their eyes on quite a few players. According to On3, they have sent out over 200 total offers for the 2026 class, including the players who have already committed to other schools.
But, there is one guy who still hasn't made his decision yet, and the Sooners really want him. In fact, he is a player the Sooners feel like is better than what his rating is on all the big recruiting sites.
They will have a shot to prove to him why he should join the program very soon.
Sooners schedule official visit with Kevin Ford
Kevin "KJ" Ford Jr. is a four-star edge rusher from Duncanville, Texas, and a top prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. At 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, he has the size and athleticism to excel as a defensive end, with room to grow. His explosiveness, partly honed through track and field, makes him a standout on the field.
Ford is known for his quick start off the snap, ability to stop the run, and natural pass-rushing skills. He has the strength to push back offensive linemen and has the speed and drive to chase down plays.
Top college programs like Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, and USC are heavily recruiting Ford. He has official visits scheduled with Alabama and Oklahoma now, with Oklahoma's being on June 20.
Oklahoma Sooners are set to have one of the most important visits of the 2025 offseason as they prep for the 2026 class
The Sooners really need a get like that.
