The New Orleans Saints are putting the final touches on their new offensive staff under head coach Kellen Moore. Adding familiar faces to him has made a lot of sense for the 36 year-old HC.

His latest addition was a big domino to fall.

Saints hire Nussmeier as QBs coach

According to reports, the Saints are hiring Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier as their new offensive coordinator under Kellen Moore.

The proven and experienced NFL assistant won't be far at all from his son, either. Nussmeier's son, Garrett, is the starting quarterback for the LSU Tigers. He is one of the top returning QBs in the SEC and is widely expected to be a draft pick in 2026.

Garrett totaled 4,052 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 13 games last season as a Bayou Bengal.

"When he's on, Garrett Nussmeier has No. 1 overall pick potential. When he's off, the quarterback who once backed up Jayden Daniels can get in his head a bit leading to mistakes…"

Moore, not Nussmeier, will call plays on offense for New Orleans. The head coach has already made that crystal clear.

Of course, this will open plenty of discourse for the future QB situation in New Orleans. Nussmeier will have quite the ties to one prospect in next year's class.

Regardless, it is great news for both Doug and Garrett.
