The Oklahoma Sooners are ready to shock everyone with a revamped offense and another elite defense in the 2025 season. Everyone is doubting them, and rightfully so after last season. However, things are looking good at the moment.

But, even the years after that look pretty good, too. The 2026 class has some really good names on it, and Brent Venables and his staff seem to be making some pushes for some very good players. As of right now, they only have four players committed in their 2026 class.

And, all four of those on the offensive side of the ball, with one being a quarterback, one wide receiver, one tight end, and one interior offensive lineman. Now, they want to address the defensive side of the ball. And, they will have a chance to prove to an elite 2026 edge rusher why he should play at OU.

Oklahoma to have a visit with 2026 EDGE Jake Kreul

Jake Kreul, a four-star edge rusher in the 2026 recruiting class, is a top defensive prospect playing at IMG Academy. He transferred from Bishop Moore Catholic High School after a strong 2023 season with 76 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, and 17 sacks. At 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Kreul is explosive off the line, bends well around tackles, and uses pass-rush moves like spins and long-arm techniques effectively.

Kreul has nearly 50 offers from major programs, including Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Miami. He’s set to visit Colorado, Ohio State, Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma in 2025, planning to narrow his list to 12 schools in spring and commit by June or July. Oklahoma is a strong contender after his April 2025 visit, but now he has another one set for June 30.

Kreul is ranked No. 36 overall, No. 6 edge, and No. 3 in Florida by On3. Playing at IMG Academy against elite competition will help him grow, and with added bulk, he could be a first-round pick in 2026. The Sooners could use him.
