The New Orleans Saints are active on the head coaching search right now. As firings and decisions come through around the NFL, they've already began their coaching search with interview requests.

Saints request interview with Aaron Glenn

The Saints have requested an interview with the Detroit Lions defensive coordinator for their head coaching job, according to Tom Pelissero.

Glenn has been perceived as a strong candidate for New Orleans, considering his ties to the Saints. He is a former player and assistant with the team and spent time under Sean Payton on staff.

With Detroit, he has emerged as one of the most well respected coordinators in the entire NFL. Even with mounting injuries, Glenn has kept the Lions defense afloat, and they always play with grit and spirit.

Not to mention, he's spent time under Dan Campbell since joining Detroit's staff. Campbell is a former Saints assistant who has strong ties to the organization.

As for the Saints, they're requesting a plethora of interviews with assistants on other staffs around the league. They may also interview current Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and Jon Gruden, but those arent set in stone yet.

Regardless, New Orleans was always expected to have notable interest in Glenn. This is the first step towards a potential return to the Saints for him.
