The Ohio State Buckeyes have been plenty active in the transfer portal for college football despite the College Football Playoff going on.

Ohio State has already picked up a few commitments from the portal and they are in pursuit of another very talented player.

With the Buckeyes having a veteran-led team, they are going to need to replace a lot from this year’s team. Ohio State will likely start two offensive tackles from the portal next year and they just may land themselves a new starting defensive end.

Defensive end Damon Wilson II entered the transfer portal yesterday and Ohio State is in play for the former five-star recruit, according to multiple reports.

Wilson is a major contributor for the Bulldogs this season and has three sacks on the year. Ohio State was a finalist for Wilson when he came out of high school and could land him this time around. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound pass rusher comes from Florida and had nearly 30 offers out of high school.

The Buckeyes have already received a commitment from FCS pass rusher Logan George but could use another addition for the depth after Mitchell Melton decided to hit the portal. Ohio State is set to lose starters J.T. Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer to the NFL this season.

If the Buckeyes could land Wilson, he would have a chance to come in and compete for a starting spot with Caden Curry and Kenyatta Jackson. Curry and Jackson are currently penciled in as the top two players on the depth chart at defensive end.

Georgia is expected to try to retain Wilson and other programs are going to be in the mix, but there is no doubt this would be a big get for the Buckeyes in the south if they can pull it off.
