The Oklahoma Sooners are having quite the bad season here in 2024, one that no one really thought they would have before the season started. Now, no one was yelling from the rooftops that this would be a national championship team, but no one was saying they would be a team that is fighting for their bowl game streak, either.
This is a team that is, frankly, one of the worst in the SEC. That's another part of what makes this season so depressing—their inaugural season in the SEC is terrible, making them one of the worst teams in the conference and ultimately making them look like they don't belong there.
The Sooners are a historical program, though, which makes the SEC seem like the perfect place for them, even if geographically, it doesn't make sense. So, with all of that being said, it's time to move on to next season, really, even with two games left against Alabama and LSU. They need one win to make it 25 straight seasons with a bowl-game streak of 26. And that's looking unrealistic.
So, the Sooners have already released their dates for when fans can finally be happy about the football team again. I'm sorry, I know that sounds brutal, but read the fan base; it's the truth. This fan base and this school are not used to having seasons as bad as this one.
The Sooners recently released their date for the spring game next season as April 12. This is going to give fans something to look forward to.
