The Cincinnati Bengals have been disrespected a lot this offseason, despite reaching the Super Bowl last season and improving their roster ahead of the 2022 season.
ESPN, however, saved the biggest piece of disrespect for just before the season opener.
Bill Barnwell, an analyst/writer for ESPN, has the Bengals with the 18th best chance to reach the Super Bowl this season.
The Bengals entered last season with a 0.1% chance of winning Super Bowl LVI. Their chances eventually improved all the way to 78.5% by the fourth quarter of the game itself before falling back to zero after being stopped on fourth down. Joe Burrow & Co. greatly exceeded expectations, but FPI still pegs their Super Bowl chances in 2022 as slightly below league average.

There's really not much to say at this point. The Bengals showed last season that they're for real. And with Joe Burrow under center and Ja'Marr Chase catching passes, plus an improved offensive line, there's no reason to expect Cincy to regress this season.
I have a strong feeling that a lot of folks in the national media are going to get ripped for their takes after the season. This Bengals team is hungry and they won't stop until they reach their goal.
