Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton spoke to the NFL Network at training camp this weekend and he had a strong message for the rest of the AFC.
Hilton, who signed with Cincinnati prior to the 2021 season after five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, made it clear where he thinks the Bengals stack up in the AFC.
"We're a Super Bowl contender — point blank," said Hilton to Cameron Wolfe. "We feel like we got the guys in this locker room that can definitely lead us to championships. Obviously, we had an opportunity last season. But this year is a new year, we added some new pieces. Guys are a lot more hungry, a lot more confident."
"In my eyes, we're the best team in the AFC," added Hilton.

There's been a lot of doubt thrown the Bengals' way this offseason.
We've seen predictions that have the team not even making the playoffs after their memorable Super Bowl run last season. That seems incredibly disrespectful for a team that seemingly got better this offseason by improving their biggest weakness (the offensive line).
It certainly feels like Cincinnati has a chip on their shoulders this season. And that's probably a good thing for the Bengals. A team that has a lot to prove is a dangerous team. And it's clear this Cincinnati team feels as though they have a lot to prove in 2022.
