Travis Kelce certainly had fun during his bye week.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end flew to join Taylor Swift in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while the pop star was touring. And knowing that Kelce was in the crowd, Swift threw in something special for him.
Swift altered the lyrics while performing her song "Karma," singing "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” rather than "Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me."
Kelce stood next to Swift's father (who was wearing a Chiefs lanyard) during the concert, and videos captured his reaction perfectly, with a smile lighting up his face.
Just days after this happened, Kelce joined his brother Jason on the latest episode of their New Heights podcast and talked about this viral moment.
“Yeah no I had no clue (she would do that) … well, I might have had a little bit of a clue, but definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, it still shocked me,” Kelce said. “I was like, ‘Oh sh**, she really just said that.'”
The moment was made even better when Kelce missed the high five being offered from Swift's father, Scott. And his brother couldn't help but make fun of him a bit for that on the podcast. But Kelce's answer was perfect.
“Mr. Swift, I apologize, big guy. Oh man, I missed that," Kelce said while also adding that the it was all okay because the two had become close at dinner the night before. And Kelce even convinced him to become a Chiefs fan despite him being a longtime Eagles supporter.
Swift was also caught on video running to Kelce following her performance, falling right into his arms. It seems the two are really enjoying their new romance.
So all in all, it's clear that Kelce's trip was one to remember. And Swift certainly enjoyed having him there.
“I was enjoying myself down there in Buenos Aires,” Kelce said. “The show was even more electric knowing that I had a little bit more to enjoy it for and yeah. Taylor absolutely ripped it. She killed it. And it looked like she was having some fun up there.”
