The New Orleans Saints have to win in Week 16 to stay alive in the playoff race. They'll need to beat the surging Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's the type of game that Dennis Allen has consistently proven that he cannot win as a head coach.
Their roster will be shorthanded two talented players once again. On offense, the Saints will be without wide receiver Michael Thomas. On defense, star cornerback Marshon Lattimore will not return against Tampa.
Both Lattimore and Thomas will remain on injured reserve this week, according to Nick Underhill.
Chris Olave has stepped up in Thomas' absence. A.T. Perry has flashed at times, too.
As for the secondary, it struggled in Week 16. Paulson Adebo and Isaac Yiadom did not have their best games against Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Demarcus Robinson. In other matchups, they have fared well, though.
That being said, the task is a large one on Sunday. they'll face wide receiver Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Lattimore has dominated Evans in their career, but luckily for him, the Bucs wideout won't see him.
For New Orleans, losing in Week 17 will put an ugly bow on another disappointing campaign under Dennis Allen.
