The Pittsburgh Steelers are a little over 24 hours away from a primetime fixture in front of the nation against the Buffalo Bills.
With Mike Tomlin setting the stage for Russell Wilson's debut and saying that everyone healthy will play, the contest has a chance to feel like a regular season game for the first quarter and potentially longer.
So with both QBs looking to stake their claim as the starter, and many others in roster battles, here are three positions up for grabs on Saturday night.
QB: Russell Wilson vs. Justin Fields
The final week of camp was the first time we saw Russell Wilson practice at full capacity. And while he would often open sessions and team drills as the first team QB, Pittsburgh quickly alternated between him and Fields throughout most practices.
In doing so, Pittsburgh leaned into the QB competition for the first time and it might be a toss-up for the first time all offseason-preseason.
Fields and Wilson went throw for throw all week, including on Thursday when the team had a joint practice at Acrisure Stadium with the Bills.
Both QBs lead the offense to successful drives and goalline periods against Buffalo.
So Saturday night is a chance for Fields to mend the gap between him and Wilson even more. As Coach Tomlin would say: "In stadium" fixtures mean more than practice and whoever comes out looking better may have a firm grip on the starting role come Week 1.
CB: Donte Jackson vs. Cory Trice Jr.
Trice made his much-anticipated debut last Friday and looked sharp doing so. But then, when Donte Jackson missed time with an undisclosed injury for most of the past week, Trice took first-team reps at CB, and he ran with them.
Buffalo's pass catchers reportedly had a field day during Thursday's joint practice, so how Pittsburgh's secondary responds, especially at the CB #2 spot, will be telling.
Center: Zach Frazier vs. Nate Herbig
Despite the bobbled exchanges that marred Nate Herbig and Justin Fields last week, Herbig was taking first-team reps before an injury on Wednesday that kept him out of Thursday's scrimmage.
Mike Tomlin would not rule out Herbig for Saturday however, setting up a potential battle between him and rookie Zach Frazier, who has looked sharp in what limited first-team reps he's received.
Steelers to potentially lose starter for the season after leg injury during final practice of training camp
Not the news Pittsburgh needs right now.
