Free agent RB Dalvin Cook is visiting with the New York Jets

It looks like the New York Jets have jumped ahead in the race for top free-agent running back Dalvin Cook.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Dalvin Cook is set to visit with the Jets this weekend.

Cook has been linked to all AFC East teams throughout recent weeks, with the Patriots being betting favorites to land him as of yesterday.

However, Cook might be joining Aaron Rodgers in New York as the Jets set out to end their playoff drought and possibly contend for a Super Bowl. Cook will certainly help them get one step closer.

Cook was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round (41st overall pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft. Across six years with the Vikings, Cook appeared in 73 games with 1,282 carries for 5,993 yards and 47 touchdowns. On the receiving side, he had 221 receptions for 1,794 yards and five touchdowns.

On the depth chart, the Jets have Breece Hall listed as the top running back, but he is currently starting camp on the PUP list.

If the Jets were able to land Cook, it would be a very successful offseason (and start to the season) for the New York team.
