The NFL Combine is a big event and probably holds more weight in terms of hype than actual results.
One of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft is now playing chess while many are playing checkers it appears. Marvin Harrison Jr. has not hired an agent, hasn’t been preparing for the combine, and won’t participate in any events at the combine.
Harrison is no stranger to the Indianapolis area and he will be there meeting with NFL teams, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. He just won’t be participating in the actual combine.
It is already known by Harrison and everyone else that the former Buckeye is going to end up a top-five pick in the draft. He’s virtually known as the top wideout prospect since A.J. Green at least. Instead of preparing for testing, Harrison is preparing for the 2024 NFL season. If teams question how fast he is, he can simply say to turn on the tape.
Now, this move could set an example for future elite prospects entering the draft in years to come. The NFL isn’t going to like that, as they want the best of the best out there participating. It’s just good for the brand overall.
An interesting decision by Harrison that may have some questioning things, but all in all it is a simple move when you think about it.
