The NFL Combine is starting, which means the 2024 NFL Draft is much closer.

And since the New England Patriots are relying on a young team to help them get back on track, there is no better time than now to look at some of the prospects they can pick.

Below we'll take a look at the best picks they should target during Day 3.

Round 4

The Patriots should select Notre Dame OT Blake Fisher with the No. 104 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft

Fisher put together a solid performance during the NFL Combine.

40-Yard Dash: 5.20 seconds
10-Yard Split: 1.82 seconds
Vertical Jump: 28 inches
Broad Jump: 9 feet, 6 inches
Three Cone: 7.76 seconds
Short Shuttle: 4.73 seconds

However, there were some minor issues that could drop him down. But he is versatile and that could be a huge asset for the Patriots. Plus they have such a young room, with players who have experience playing in their rookie season. Throughout training camp, he can develop and grow in such a short period of time to earn a spot on the roster and potentially fight for a spot.

Round 5

The Patriots should select New Hampshire RB Dylan Laube with the No. 136 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft

A local kid, Dylan Laube has impressed and could be a steal for any team in the NFL Draft. So the Patriots should be the ones to benefit.

A to Z Sports' Destin Adams provided a draft profile of the New Hampshire running back, highlighting his strengths.

Receiving ability
Laube was not only New Hampshire's best receiving RB in 2023 but also the best receiver on the entire team. He led the team with 699 receiving yards and tied for the most receiving touchdowns with seven.

Burst at the 2nd level
Once Laube gets through the line, he often goes into another gear on tape. He becomes a mismatch for LBs, especially on the edge.

Ability after the catch
Laube looks natural with the ball in his hands, and he makes defenders look silly when put in one-on-one situations in open space.

And at the Senior Bowl, his success continued, with A to Z Sports listing him as one of the five winners from the weekend.

For an FCS player to make this list over some of the top schools in the country shows just how great he was this week. New Hampshire RB Dyland Laube put on a show every time he was given an opportunity. Some may have questioned whether he would be drafted or not coming into the week, but I think he's put that conversation to bed. The new question is how high he could go. Laube spent time with both the WRs and RBs this week, and I think he cemented himself as one of the best, if not the best, receiving back in this upcoming class. His ability goes beyond catching out of the backfield, as he showed solid route running against CBs this week.

While the team has Rhamondre Stevenson, they need another running back and Laube would be perfect for that job.

Round 6

The Patriots should select Minnesota TE Brevyn Spann-Ford with the No. 182 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft

Both Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki are free agents, so the Patriots are in need of a tight end. And Minnesota's Brevyn Spann-Ford could fill that void.

According to A to Z Sports' Destin Adams, he is ranked No. 13 on the 2024 NFL Draft tight end rankings.

So he could be a late round pick for the Patriots and has the potential to prove himself throughout the preseason.

Round 7

The Patriots should select Holy Cross G C.J. Hanson with the No. 229 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft

Another local player, C.J. Hanson is very versatile. While he played guard, the Patriots could try him out at different positions. Especially considering how much help they need on the offensive line.

Who knows, it could be another Michael Onwenu in the making.

Hanson is big and athletic, having helped lead Holy Cross to a historic season. And as a late round pick, he would be one that is low risk, but could be high reward.
