Sean Payton calls on Drew Brees to help Broncos QB Bo Nix
According to Zac Stevens, Bo Nix visited with Drew Brees this offseason to learn from him. He spent 4-5 days with Brees trying to find ways to improve.
This is a really cool development. Payton knows Brees incredibly well and understands how Brees prepared on a weekly basis from when they shared time with the Saints. In New Orleans, Brees rose to be one of the most consistent, elite quarterbacks in football. Payton would love to see that happen for Nix, too.

Payton also mentioned that Nix worked with experienced and well-respected throwing coach Tom House during this offseason. Nix is clearly determined to find ways to get better for the Broncos.
Expectations for Nix and how his future looks
I discussed how Nix could take the next step in his development this season with Justin Churchill, who has experience covering the AFC West. He expects Nix to continue to improve in year two under a long-time offensive guru in Payton.
The Denver Broncos finally found their franchise quarterback, and he's really good. But, entering his second season. Denver still finds itself with the worst QB in the division, with the Las Vegas Raiders now getting Geno Smith, and of course, the Los Angeles Chargers having Justin Herbert and the Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes. After year two, we could be talking about Nix as one of the better QBs in this division — maybe second or third? He has the potential to make that jump; we just need to see it all come together. His meeting with Brees this offseason is just one of the small details that show you how good he wants to be, and just how much he wants to perfect the offense. Luckily, Nix is in a great position as a sophomore QB. — Justin Churchill, A to Z Sports
