A former Ohio State Buckeye running back is in the news for the wrong reasons after an incident that took place this weekend, early Saturday morning, after 1 a.m. ET. According to WSYX ABC6, surveillance tape captured Hall allegedly striking the male victim in the face multiple times before the victim’s head hit the ground. The victim was unconscious when police arrived on the scene at 744 W. 5th Ave.
At this time, the victim is said to be in critical condition at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. Homicide detectives are investigating the case due to the extent of the injuries to the victim.
The former Ohio State running back was arrested without incident and will be arraigned in court to start the week on Monday.
Hall played five seasons at Ohio State from 2009 through 2013, and he had 1,572 rushing yards on 305 runs during that time. Hall’s best season came in 2023 when he ran for 536 yards and scored eight of his 14 career touchdowns. Hall had the last kickoff return for a touchdown for the Buckeyes all the way back in 2010 against the Michigan Wolverines.
The former Buckeye went undrafted in 2014 and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, although he was unable to establish an NFL career. Hall is 34 years old and has been away from playing football for the better part of a decade, and now the Ohio State alum’s name is in the news for something totally different than what he used to be in it for.
