‘This is why you come to Florida State’ – Seminoles star tells it how it is in a message that recruits will love to hear
Duce Robinson is ready for the Seminoles’ matchup against Miami.
There are so many elite rivalries throughout college football, and one of the best has to be the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes. You can also throw in any combination of those two teams, along with the Florida Gators, and it’s a pretty big rivalry, too.
But this one just means something, especially this season.
“This is the game you grow up hearing about,” he said. “Like, these are the moments, this is why you come to Florida State, to be able to play this game. Hearing my dad [Former Seminole Dominic Robinson] talk about his experiences throughout this game, just talking about the feelings he has, the passion he has for this game, and I’m really excited to be able to participate,” star wide receiver Duce Robinson said.
The Seminoles have a lot to play for on Saturday night
Now that the Gators are pretty much a bad team with a good defense, this is the only huge game left on the Seminoles’ matchup, and this one, unlike the game against Florida, is a conference game. The Miami Hurricanes are one of the best teams in the entire country, on both sides of the ball, but really in the trenches.
The Seminoles have already proven they have resurrected from their 2-10 season last year, but they don’t want to be a team that’s just “better” than they were last year. In fact, knowing head coach Mike Norvell, this is a team that thinks it can compete in the College Football Playoffs this season.
They are playing for the fact that they think everyone should still be taking them seriously, despite the loss to the Virginia Cavaliers. They are playing for Mike Norvell, because if he wins this game, he may be guaranteed another season, as he’s kind of still on the hot seat. And, they are playing for their recruits, as they have a lot of guys they are trying to flip from other schools, who are going to be on the sideline at the game.
This game is huge.
