Former Ohio State Buckeyes player facing homicide charge stemming from the death of his girlfriend back in May

Former Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Julian Fleming is facing several criminal charges stemming from an incident in May that fatally injured his girlfriend in an ATV accident, according to a number of reports.

Fleming is accused of crashing an ATV in Columbus Township, Pennsylvania on May 23 with his girlfriend as a passenger and neither was wearing safety equipment.  According to multiple reports, a deer entered the roadway and caused the crash. Fleming’s girlfriend, 23-year-old Alyssa Boyd, was declared dead at the scene. 

Julian Fleming is facing several serious charges stemming from the accident

Fleming has been charged with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence, and aggravated assault by vehicle, according to WNEP-ABC. The former Ohio State wideout was scheduled to face a judge and be arraigned at 11 a.m. this morning in Bradford County. Fleming was seriously injured in the accident and treated by the Guthrie Troy Community Hospital back in May. 

Ohio State added Fleming as a member of the 2020 recruiting class and he was the No. 1 wideout in the country coming out of Pennsylvania. The Buckeyes were able to beat out Penn State and several major programs to land Fleming. While at Ohio State, Fleming was never able to hit the star level that many thought he could. Fleming’s best season came in 2022 when he had 533 receiving yards and six touchdowns as a junior. After his production was cut in half in 2023, Fleming transferred home to Penn State to finish up his college career. 

After wrapping up a five-year college career, Fleming went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2025. After a failed physical, the Packers moved on from Fleming
