Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers could be on the verge of landing an elite 2027 recruit.

On3’s Sam Spiegelman predicted this week that LSU will land 2027 four-star wide receiver Miguel Whitley over programs like the Tennessee Vols, Ole Miss Rebels, Texas Longhorns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Whitley, 6-foot/180 pounds from New Orleans, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 24 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 10 player in the state of Louisiana.

“LSU is an early favorite for elite 4-star wide receiver Miguel Whitley, who is very familiar with Baton Rouge after a series of camps, visits and game-day experiences nearby in Baton Rouge,” wrote Spiegelman. “Lane Kiffin and the new Tigers staff picked up right where the old regime left off, and things are trending in the right direction. Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee are in line to host the top-50 prospect before a decision, and he has strong ties to each of those coaching staffs. From speaking to sources, LSU is certainly going to be a factor until the end here.”

Miguel Whitley has already scheduled his official visit to LSU

According to 247Sports, Whitley is planning to take an official visit to LSU on June 19.

Whitley could also show up at LSU as an unofficial visitor during the spring (one of the perks of Whitley living just 90 minutes away in New Orleans).

The four-star wide receiver is one of LSU’s top priorities. And for good reason — Kiffin has to land elite in-state talent. Especially at the wide receiver position.

Recruiting is fluid, so things can certainly change in this recruiting battle, but for now it sounds like the Tigers are going to be tough to beat for Whitley.
