Cleveland Browns’ long shot rookie has found himself on a list any newcomer would want to be on ahead of mandatory OTAs
The Browns passed up taking an EDGE in the 2026 NFL Draft. As a result, an undrafted free agent is getting a lot of buzz to end up making the team.
The Cleveland Browns look to have brought in a strong draft class in April headlined by LT Spencer Fano, WRs KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, as well as S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. However, there was an interesting decision the Browns made in the draft that still needs to play out.
Cleveland went into the draft needing to add depth to its pass rush. The Browns didn’t take an EDGE; instead, they brought a couple of undrafted free agents in who are going to have a chance to make the team.
One of those names has been generating plenty of buzz.
Browns’ undrafted free agent pass rusher is one to watch in OTAs
The brother of Cleveland’s first-round pick was signed as an UDFA out of Utah, EDGE Logan Fano. Fano is going to have a chance to make the 53-man roster in Cleveland, and he’s been labeled by Bleacher Report as the Browns’ most exciting UDFA ahead of mandatory OTAs.
“Fano’s younger brother didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called in this year’s draft—Spencer Fano was taken by the Browns in the first round of this year’s draft,” Gary Davenport of BR said. “Things didn’t work out that well for Logan Fano — the former team captain at Utah joined his brother in Cleveland as an undrafted free agent.”
Cleveland gave Fano $310,000 guaranteed at signing as a priority UDFA. He was the Browns’ first UDFA signing, and they acted quickly showing their interest in pairing him with his brother. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound pass rusher will have a chance to make the team as the No. 4 or No. 5 pass rusher. He’s joined by former Florida Gators EDGE Tyreak Sapp batting for jobs.
The Browns’ intriguing UDFA was All-Big 12 in 2025 with 44 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his final season at Utah.
Path is there for the Browns to keep EDGE Logan Fano around
Cleveland is still looking to replace Cameron Thomas in the back end of their EDGE room after he signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. The Browns at one point looked to add free agent EDGE AJ Epenesa, but a failed physical caused the deal to fall through.
Fano is the No. 1 UDFA to watch for Cleveland who has a chance to make the team joining a pass rush group of Myles Garrett, Alex Wright, and Isaiah McGuire at the top of the rotation. A good month of June and training camp are a must for Fano, but he has the physical tools to stick, and I expect he will.
