Five former 2025 Miami Dolphins players who have yet to find a new home this offseason

Many former Miami Dolphins found work this offseason — but not everyone who was in South Florida last year has found a new home yet.

It was announced on Wednesday morning that former Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier has found a new home in Detroit.

Grier now joins an extensive list of former Miami Dolphins who the team moved on from this offseason to find a new place to be in 2026. Not everyone has been able to achieve the feat — even if most have. So who are the prominent names still left on the market who played in Miami last season? Here are five notable former Miami Dolphins players who have yet to find a new home in 2026.

WR Tyreek Hill

If not for his major leg injury, Hill surely would have already found a home. But alas, Hill is full on with his rehab after the Week 4 injury that ultimately helped to end his Miami Dolphins tenure. When Hill proves he’s healthy enough to play, it’s probably safe to assume he’ll have a market.

OG James Daniels

James Daniels was perhaps the biggest letdown for the 2025 season when you consider the Dolphins had enough cash and cap space to make one “bigger” move and they chose to sign Daniels. They got three snaps for their effort. After missing nearly all of 2024, too, it seems the rest of the league is leery to give Daniels a look — assuming he’s actively looking for a new spot.

TE Darren Waller

Waller certainly proved that he could still play after coming out of retirement in 2025. Is that enough to keep him in the game in 2026? We’ll probably find out for good closer to training camp. Wear and tear is a real thing with Waller, as Miami found out last season amid several reserve stints. But someone looking for a low-risk, high upside swing could still come calling.

CB Rasul Douglas

There’s no doubt about this one. Rasul Douglas can play, man. He was tremendous for Miami in 2025 despite signing with the team late in summer and being unceremoniously thrust into the lineup. But Douglas went the distance last year before signing and his 2026 offseason is mirroring a similar timeline so far.

SAF Ifeatu Melifonwu

Melifonwu set a career high for snaps played in 2025 with the Dolphins — logging 547 snaps on defense and 104 special teams snaps. It was a successful return to play after missing over a dozen games in 2024. But the play was erratic and it has left Melifonwu still looking for a new team as we roll through the summer.
