Las Vegas Raiders HC Klint Kubiak has already mastered an aspect of the offseason that takes years for coaches to learn
The Las Vegas Raiders are in a very good spot with their offseason so far, and that’s largely because of the efficient training camp head coach Klint Kubiak has created.
The Las Vegas Raiders have done a fantastic job so far of having an efficient offseason. It started with the hiring process for their new head coach, and they knew they wanted Klint Kubiak from the get-go. Then, free agency and the draft. Now, training camp is following suit.
This is the first time Kubiak has been a head coach, which means this is his first time putting together a full offseason and training camp plan. And it’s safe to say the reviews have been amazing. The players are praising the rookie HC and the way he’s built camp. The media are saying it’s one of the best they’ve seen. And one word keeps coming up: Efficient. It takes coaches years to master that, and Kubiak has already done it.

“Well, Coach [Kubiak] has done an outstanding job, number one, of developing the culture here and how he wants us to practice every day and laying out the plan,” assistant head coach Mike McCoy told reporters on Thursday.
“We spent a lot of time in the offseason program, and we got back from vacation making sure everything was detailed, every minute to be as efficient as possible with the way we meet from the first time they walk in the building till the time they leave at night, just to make sure that we’re helping these players be the best they can be and help build the best team come the opener.”
There are some local media who have been at numerous training camps the last few years, who have called this training camp one of the most efficient and well put together they have seen. That’s saying a lot. Think of some of the guys who have come through the Raiders coaching ranks. You obviously have Pete Carroll last year, who’s won championships at every level. Then there’s Jon Gruden and Jack Del Rio. Not to mention Josh McDaniels, who learned under the greatest coach of all time, Bill Belichick.
There is a reason why the Raiders waited so long to get him. Well, they waited so long because Kubiak was busy winning the Super Bowl. But the reason they were okay with waiting was because of who Kubiak is and what he brings to the table. He has been around the game for so long, with his father being legendary head coach Gary Kubiak. Not to mention, he coached under Mike Macdonald last season. Kubiak is the guy, and he’s already proving it in small ways.
