The Kansas City Chiefs have released their second injury report ahead of Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts on “Sunday Night Football.”

The team is still missing starting LT Josh Simmons and starting SS Chamarri Conner, who are dealing with back and knee injuries, respectively. Both players did not play in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL Season. While Andy Reid said Simmons and Conner are making progress, I don’t expect either to play in Week 2 vs. the Colts. I do, however, expect CB Mansoor Delane to suit up and play after being injured in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the second Week 2 injury reports. Keep in mind that clubs can add to the injury report through Week 2’s kickoff on Sunday. They will release game status designations on Friday, Sept. 18.

Observations

  • Steve Spagnuolo had this to say about CB Mansoor Delane’s injury: “I mean, he had hit the ground, and what Rick (Burkholder) said to me was he felt something in his shoulder, and I don’t know how it all came out, but he just didn’t feel like he had strength to play, and then after that, I mean, it just went to MRIs and extras and all that. We didn’t have helmets on (during Wednesday practice). It was kind of a jog through. Today will probably be a better indication of what he can do.”
  • Delane participating fully for two consecutive days gives him a strong chance to be available to play Sunday night.
  • L’Jarius Sneed and Chris Jones were limited in practice. I expect both to be available for Week 2 vs. the Colts. This gives both players a chance to rest and recover from minor ailments.

Observations

  • Alec Pierce missing practice with a heel injury is a big deal. He’s their top wide receiver and their biggest pass-catching playmaker. Combine that with Ashton Dulin missing his second straight practice, and the Colts could be down several playmakers at wide receiver in Week 2.
