Bengals 2025 Roster Breakdown: Kendric Pryor becoming a mainstay with Cincinnati receivers
Pryor has been on and off the Bengals since 2022.
Bengals roster breakdown is back! During the 99 days leading up to Cincinnati’s regular season opener against the Cleveland Browns, the player with the matching jersey number as days remaining will become the day’s highlighted player.
19 days remain until the Bengals’ first game of the 2025 season, and we’re diving back into the receivers room with No. 19 Kendric Pryor.
Kendric Pryor
Age: 27
Year: 4th
Position: Wide receiver
College: Wisconsin
Previous Teams: Jacksonville Jaguars (2022-23)
Jersey Number: 19
Pryor enters his fourth season in the NFL and third with the Bengals after going undrafted during the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent six years at Wisconsin and started 37 of 53 games for the Badgers. Cincinnati waived him as a rookie with hopes of retaining him on the practice squad, but the Jaguars signed him to their practice squad instead. He spent his entire rookie season and the 2023 offseason in Jacksonville before signing back with the Bengals’ practice squad in Week 4 of the regular season. He spent nearly all of the 2024 season there as well outside of three weeks in which he was elevated to the active roster. He caught his first career pass in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Contract Details
Pryor signed a one-year, $1.03 million deal with the Bengals this offseason, which represents his potential cash earnings and salary cap hit for the season. Because Pryor did not accrue two years of NFL experience from 2023-24, he’s technically considered a second-year player and will only be eligible for exclusive rights free agency next offseason.
Roster Outlook
Pryor has been a career practice squad player and that doesn’t appear to be changing this year. Cincinnati’s receiver room looks to be set at six with Mitchell Tinsley making a strong case for the last spot during Monday night’s victory over the Washington Commanders. It simply comes down to how many they want to keep on the practice squad, and whether or not Pryor’s experience in the building will carry much weight.
